Pro Situation Looking Good for Gaffney

Tony Gaffney had a great summer league in Las Vegas and has been invited back to the LA Lakers veteran's camp according to his sister Jessica. Word on the street is that their top draft pick is headed overseas to play. Mr. Gaffney also has an offer from overseas (Israel) as his back-up plan...the journey continues!

Recent Press on the Gaffney brothers

Tony Gaffney is currently playing for the Lakers on their summer league team. Their is a nice piece on the Sports of Boston blog that you should check out. Also, check out this video of Tony's brother, Bud, who may follow in his brother's footsteps at UMass.

Tony Gaffney is a 6'8", 210 lb. Sr. at UMass whose honors include 2009 Defensive Player of the Year Award for the Atlantic 10 conference. Named to Atlantic 10 All-League Team (2nd team) and A-10 All-Defensive Team. Ranked 3rd in NCAA in blocks (3.8) and 17th in rebounds (10.2). Led A-10 conference in blocks, second in rebounds, second in steals. Averaged a double-double for his final season - 11.5 points and 10.2 rebounds in 33.9 minutes per game with 3.8 blocks and 2.03 steals per game. He is the 1st player in NCAA since 1996-97 with 100 blocks and 50 steals in a season. Named MVP for UMass and finished with a double-double in his last college game giving him 12 for his career.
